Božica Dea Matasić, HRV
(Zagreb, 1970)
She was born in Zagreb in 1970. In 1996, she graduated from the Teaching Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, majoring in sculpture. She has been exhibiting since 1992, and to this day she has presented her work in about twenty solo exhibitions and more than fifty group exhibitions in the country and abroad. In her work she has engaged in sculpture, graphics, spatial installations and ambience. As a participant in the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium in 2016, she made the sculpture Kula pogleda (Tower of Views). She has won many awards and recognitions, including those by the jury of the 11th Triennial of Croatian Sculpture, Audience Award at the T-HT competition at the Museum of Modern Art, Zagreb, 2011, awards of the 11th Triennial of Croatian Sculpture and the first prize in the competition for a conceptual sculptural and architectural design of the Žarko Kaić Memorial, with co-authors Bernarda Silov, BScArch and Davor Silov, MScArch.
Since 2006, she has been teaching sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Osijek, where she is currently a full professor. She lives and works in Zagreb and Osijek.
She participated in the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium in 2016.
