Mosaic workshop

A mosaic workshop at Dubrova took place in September 2019, led by Zdravko Milić, an academic painter who was a full professor at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. The workshop is intended for students and young artists; Marina Rajšić, Alison Ivašić and Mia Knežević were invited to take part. The workshop was held outdoors, in the courtyard of the Dubrova estate, the place where the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium began some 50 years ago – the event that also created the space of Dubrova Sculpture Park. Interested visitors could watch the mosaics being made.

The workshop was led by Zdravko Milić. Zdravko Milić was born in Labin in 1953. He finished the School of Applied Arts in Split, graphic arts department, in 1973. He graduated in painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice in 1977, in the class of Professor Carmelo Zotti. He trained further in mosaic at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in the class of Professor Riccardo Licata (1988). From 1978 to 2006 he worked as a freelance artist. He is a member of HDLU Rijeka and HDLU Zagreb. He was a full professor at the Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka, where he taught Painting and Mosaic. He has been a member of the MKS association since 2018.
