Ante Marinović, HRV
(Vela Luka, Korčula, 1947)
He was born in Vela Luka, on the island of Korčula, in 1947. He attended the School of Applied Arts in Split and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He acquired the title of stone master at the “Asmave” school (Associazione marmoristi Veronesi) in Verona (Italy). He has made sculptures in marble and granite.
He has presented his works in many solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad and has participated in numerous sculptural symposia and workshops. He is the author of over 40 sculptures in public spaces. He has won numerous international awards. His works are included in the collections of many renowned museums and galleries around the world (Shimonoseki Museum of Modern Art, Japan; Microsoft Corp. in Seattle, USA; Vatican, etc.).
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Monumental Sculpture Events (AIESM). He lives and works in Vela Luka, Korčula.
He took part in the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium in 1979.
