Vlasta Tihec Zorko, SLO
(Maribor, Slovenia, 1934)
She was born in Maribor, Slovenia, in 1934. In 1953, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana to study sculpture, graduating in the class of Prof. Zdenko Kalin in 1959. She furthered her studies at the Academy of Arts in Copenhagen (1973-71) and the Academy of Arts in Munich (Prof. R. Jacobsen and Maier-Buss).
After university, she worked as a teacher of fine arts in primary and secondary schools in Maribor and as a professor of design at the Teaching Academy.
She has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad and participated in many sculptural symposia and colonies.
She has received numerous awards for her work.
She participated in the Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium in 1978.
